2012 Wheel Ride for Food
NOT YOUR AVERAGE CHARITY RIDE - The 5th Annual Wheel Ride for Food is planned and supported by experienced cyclists and will challenge your mind, body and senses. Every rider level is welcome!
The 30 mile Half-Metric ride is for beginner to mid-level cyclists looking for rolling hills, a few climbs and a beautiful river view. The 70-mile Metric Century is a little tougher for mid to advanced-level cyclists. The grueling ascent up Ox Creek will challenge your legs with 1.63 miles of climbing while Madison & Buncombe County backroads let your spirits soar! Our Full Century route takes experienced riders up Ox Creek and then stretches their legs a little further to complete 105 miles of rolling hills, country roads and a ride along the river.
No matter which ride you choose, you'll be greeted along the way by friendly volunteers at fully-stocked rest stops and supported by experienced SAG and Sweep personnel eager to provide a top-notch ride experience. Best of all, you'll be helping to support Meals On Wheels and the more than 500 homebound seniors they serve every day!
