Dear Friends and Relatives,

This year I have decided to run the 112th Boston Marathon on April 21, 2008. As some of you may know I have run numerous half marathon in the recent past. I am excited about trying the whole marathon this year and feel Im ready now more than ever.

As important as this opportunity is to me though, I want my Marathon run to have some inpact, some benefit to someone else. That is why I have decided to join a group of runners representing Massachusettes Eye and Ear Infirmary called team Eye and Ear. The money I raise will help in research of diseases that affect the young and old. My personal goal is $3000 dollars.

Im sure we can all think about people who have been afflicted by diseases of the eye or ear. I have had first hand experience watching my own mother loose her vision and her independence. Treatment at this point is very limited and has not made much difference in her quality of life. My hope is that the money I raise will help all people who need treatment.

I believe that raising $3000 toward this cause is a goal worthy of my best effort. I hope you will help me by supporting me and making a gift. No gift is too small.
