It's time once again for the annual Walk/5K for Kidneys!  This will be our third annual event  in the Ithaca region and we are excited that the event builds each year!  New this year will be a kids fun run and our walk will follow the 5K run, allowing everyone ample opportunity to enjoy each event.  Following the walk, we will have lunch for everyone! So whether you walk or run, you can participate in this event and show support for those living with kidney disease and related conditions.

Did you know that:

* 1 in 9 people have chronic kidney disease but most don't know it.  That means you or someone you know is affected

* diabetes and high blood pressure are the two leading causes!

* 95,000 people across the country are currently waiting for a life saving kidney transplant

* every 5 minutes someone's kidneys fail and every 10 minutes someone new is added to the transplant waiting list

These numbers are staggering, but you can make a difference right here in your local community, by running, or walking, for someone you love!  Funds raised benefit free kidney screening programs, healthcare advocacy, outreach and eduction efforts, and so much more!  Don't delay - register today and start saving lives!

Don't forget to create your fundraising pages and be creatiive in your outreach efforts!  Our staff and volunteers are here to help you along the way with fundraising tips and strategies, so don't be shy about reaching out!  You can print an event flyer and a pledge form.  You can also get some great fundraising tips here in our FUNdraising guide.  If you are a business or know a business that might want to support the event and get some great recognition in the community, share our sponsorship opportunities with them.    More than anything, have fun and you will make a difference in the lives of those living with kidney disease.

On site registration for our kids fun run will start at 8:00 and the run will kick off at 8:30.

On site registration for the 5K will start at 9 am and the race will kick off at 10 am.

Awards ceremony for kids fun run and 5K will follow the 5K run.

Walk registration will start at 10 and kick off at 11.

Lunch for everyone will follow the walk.
