Support Outright Vermont

By signing up through Firstgiving for this general event 'Support Outright Vermont', you have the ability to host whatever fundraising event you would like to raise money to support the work that Outright is doing across the state of Vermont. Outright relies on year-round support from people all across the country to fund the programs that we offer to youth across the entire state.

Think about:

~ Queer & Allied Youth Summit: a time for youth from Queer Straight Alliances [QSAs] to come together with about 150-200 other youth from across the state for a QSA Conference, Youth Pride March, SpeakOUT, Queer Prom, and SleepOUT.

~ Camp Outright: a residential summer camp that is offered to queer and allied youth for one week in August. Any youth who wishes to attend camp is able to...and for the first time in many of their lives, their sexual orientation and/or gender identity is not something that sets them apart from the rest of the campers. It is a beautiful sight to see campers from Vermont [and surrounding states] come together for a week of laughter, arts and crafts, learning, kayaking, singing, dancing, new friendships, and yes, even a few tears [no one likes to say goodbye to new friends, a new home, or a new sense of belonging].

~ Friday Night Group: our signature program -- and how we got started back in 1989. Twenty-two and a half years later, Friday Night Group is still running. Every Friday. For queer youth in Vermont. In several locations. To provide a place of safety and security. And food. Yes, we feed them too -- and sometimes this meal is the only hot meal a youth might have that day [or even over the course of a couple of days].
