16th Clean Your Streams
Tired of all the trash along the streams in the area? Be part of our efforts to clean your streambanks with the 16th Annual Clean Your Streams! in conjunction with International Coastal Clean Up on September 15th, 2012. So far, over 86 tons of trash have been collected in fifteen years from the Maumee River Watershed by volunteers like you! That's as much as about 11 adult elephants! Last year, 726 volunteers hauled over 15,000 pounds of trash from our waterways on a single Saturday morning. And with your support, Partners for Clean Streams plans to do it again!
Go beyond volunteering and make a bigger impact! If you can't volunteer, you can still be part of our effort. Ask your friends, family, and co-workers to donate to help us keep this event successful! By collecting donations for the 16th Clean Your Streams, you can be our FirstGiving Challenge Winner, awarded at the Appreciation Picnic.
Participation in this Challenge is easy!
- Click the Fundraise button at the top of the page.
- If you've used FirstGiving before, log in to your account. If not, enter your e-mail address, account details, and click Continue.
- Choose your web address and click to Create Your Personal Web Page.
From there, personalize your fundraising page with personal goals, stories from past Clean Your Streams, reasons why you are particpating in the 16th Clean Your Streams, or impoartance of promoting clean streams and rivers for the area. You can upload a personal photo or YouTube video! You can also link your page to your Facebook account or put a widget on your own website, blog or email.
In a few easy steps you can raise $250! Follow these steps and you are on your way to winning the FirstGiving Challenge.
- Make your own online donation of $25.
- Send e-mails to family, friends, classmates, co-workers through your personal web page.
- Ask 5 family members for a minimum of $25 donation each.
- Ask 5 classmates or co-workers for $10 donation each.
- Ask 10 friends for a $5 donation each.
All of your doantionas are tax deductible as well. Your doantions help us purchase much needed supplies such as trash bags, T-shirts, food for lunch, PR and much more.
If you don't have a few minutes to customize your own mini-webpagebut would like to help us, you can donate directly from anyone's fundraising page. It all goes to support the 16th Clean Your Streams! After making your donation, tell everyone! Post it to Facebook or email a quick note to family and friends explaing why you choose to donate to Clean Your Streams. This could encourage them to donate as well! Come back and check how close to our goal we are! With your help and the help of generous others, we can match our goal and save our streams!
