This is Team 2CURE-HD’s second year competing in Race Across AMerica (RAAM), a bicycle race from San Diego to Atlantic City . Thanks to the generous help of people like you, we managed to raise nearly $120,000 for HD research during last year’s effort. This year we hope to top that goal and, in addition to money raised for research at one of the country’s 26 HDSA Centers of Excellence, we also hope to continue spreading the word about this tragic disease and what people can do to help end its relentless assault on its victims and their families.
Team 2CURE-HD was formed several years ago by two of us, both of whom have HD in our immediate families (Renato and Scott) and joined by friends who love to cycle, and care so much about HD (Jason and John). Our goal was to elicit public support by committing ourselves to something extraordinary, specifically RAAM. After several years of planning, we gathered a team of equally committed HD-affected people and competed in the race last year, gathering research money, publicity and public awareness along the way. For 8 days we raced over 30 other teams in a 24/7 bike race that crossed 14 states and climbed over 111,000 feet of cumulative elevation gain.
In spite of our successes, HD’s assault is far from over. Thus, we committed ourselves to racing yet again and, with the assistance of people like you, to continuing our quest and calling.
We sincerely thank you for your time, love and support. If it’s within your means, we ask that you make a donation, and please share this site with your friends. Together, we can all help ensure that this is the final generation afflicted with HD.
