"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:2-3 NIV
As Tera's family and friends, we are deeply grieved by our loss but, comforted in the knowledge that she is living in the presence of her Lord Jesus Christ. Tera was a woman of tremendous faith who inspired all around her with her caring spirit. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
As a counselor, Tera often touched the lives of hurting people in her work. She was especially touched when she and Phil visited World Vision's Gulu Rehabilitation Center for Children of War in Uganda in April 2006.
For nearly 20 years, Uganda has been in the midst of a ruthless civil war. The children are the most tragic victims of the war, often kidnapped, forced to fight, and subjected to unspeakable brutalities. Children who are rescued or escape are often severely traumatized by their experiences. The World Vision Center provides these children with food, shelter, medical treatment, HIV/AIDS education, skills training, and counseling to help them work through the trauma and grief resulting from their captivity.
While visiting the Gulu Center, Tera was very touched by the counselors whose work is so emotionally and spiritually demanding. Tera hoped to be able to return to Gulu for the specific purpose of providing counseling and care for the counselors who pour themselves out each day on behalf of the children.
In celebration of Tera's life, we would like to invite you to make a donation in Tera's memory to help the children and their staff who serve them at the World Vision Gulu Rehabilitiation Center for Children of War. Your gift of love will help make a lasting difference in the lives of these children and serve as a legacy of love and hope in the the name of Christ, and in honor of Tera.
We wish to thank you all for your love, prayers, and support.
