Snowball Tournament 2012
It's nearly time for Carrabassett Valley's "Rite of Spring" - The Fred Webster Snowball Tournament (snow softball games) to benefit Special Olympics Maine.
This year's tournament will be the 25th Annual, thanks in large part to the dedication and perseverence of Suzanne Scott (Subo), who along with the late Fred Webster, started the fundraiser to raise money for Special Olympics Maine.
On Tuesday, March 27th, eight teams will converge onto two fields for this exciting and fun-filled event, which is a series of games played with the process of elimination. Each player will raise money by soliciting pledges from friends, family and perfect strangers. The games will run all day and will take place regardless of the weather - snow, sleet, rain and/or occasional sun; or the condition of the fields - snow, ice, mud or grass.
Concessions will be available throughout the day at Blackfly Field.
Spectators are welcome and sponsors are encouraged and appreciated!
Please be generous in sponsoring the players/teams who will participate in this great event!
