Getting started is easy.  Simply click on the "start fundraising" button above and personalize your fundraising page. Then send an email to your friends, family, and colleagues and ask them to support you. Setting a fundraising goal can be a great motivation for people to give.

You can raise money to support Thompson Island for many reasons. If you are running the 4k Trail Run, ask people to sponsor your run. On your next birthday or a major holiday, ask your friends and family to contribute to Thompson Island in lieu of gifts.

No matter why you decide to help fundraise on our behalf and no matter how much your raise, we want to extend our most heartfelt thanks for your belief in our mission and dedication to urban youth.

Thompson Island Outward Bound

Each year more than 6,500 youth participate in Outward Bound and environmental education programs on Thompson Island. For many of these young adolescents their expedition on Thompson Island is the first time they have been away from home and out of the city. Students gain self-confidence and learn the skills they need to succeed including leadership, teamwork, goal setting, and personal responsibility.

Mission: Thompson Island Outward Bound is a not-for-profit organization whose primary purpose is to provide adventurous and challenging experiential learning programs that inspire character development, compassion, community service, environmental responsibility and academic achievement. Our organization principally serves early adolescents from all economic and social communities of greater metropolitan Boston, and the institutions and adults who support them.
