Description: Voices for Illinois Children works to educate, engage, inform and inspire citizens of Illinois to take meaningful action to improve the lives of children and their families.
Mission: Voices for Illinois Children (Voices) is a non-profit, non-partisan state-wide advocacy organization created in 1987 through the efforts of a group of civic, business, community, academic and philanthropic leaders to develop and promote strategies which would improve conditions for all children in our state. Over the past fourteen years, Voices has worked in collaboration with dozens of partners to marshal resources for children on both a statewide and community level. Voices works to: measure the needs of children within the state and provide reliable analysis of conditions that impact those needs; monitor government and community actions that affect children; and mobilize citizen support for key children's initiatives. Our work seeks to create a constituency for children with an emphasis on promoting preventive strategies, building community resources and advancing public-private cooperation.
