- Provide a safe, secure and comfortable environment for their family
Way Back Inn is interested in helping to provide a long term solution for homeless children and their families and work with individuals to accomplish their goals.
Our Programs:
Our Programs:
- Short Term Transitional Housing - Our Flagship program provides emergency housing for 1-3 months with all utilities paid while the family works towards finding employment and stable housing.
- Long Term Transitional Housing - Families reside in one of our houses for up to 24 months while they are finishing an educational program. All families contribute up to 20% of their income helping to pay the rent and utilities.
- Prevention - Way Back Inn helps families at risk of becoming homeless by helping pay rent and utilities for one month
What we do:
- Provide one time rental and utility assistance for families as risk of becoming homeless
- Assist families in finding supportive services to become self sufficient
- Provide 90-day transitional housing for families with young children
- Operate 10 homes in Kent, Renton and Tukwila Washington
How many we've helped in 2009:
- 83 total families
- 304 individuals
- 177 were under the age of 18 years old
Goals for 2010:
- Provide transition in place housing leading to permanent housing for one family
- Ensure that 80-85% of our families successfully transition out of our programs
- Partner with Habitat for Humanity to house one family while they are builidng their own home
- Work with our short term guests to help them find long term housing
Our Volunteers:
- Have logged more than 4100 hours in 2008
- Work to raise funds through events and web based fundraising
- Keep the homes maintained and do small repairs
- Are why Way Back Inn is successful
