The Meyer Foundation for Disabilities helps people with developmental disabilities by supporting programs at the Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI) in Omaha. Many of these programs are not available elsewhere. The Meyer Foundation for Disabilities currently focuses on supporting and funding adult recreational therapy programs at MMI as well as equipment for the Recreational Therapy Program. Recreational therapy uses prescriptive recreational activity and community transition training to improve physical, cognitive, social and emotional functioning. Programs are provided on a year-round basis.
