WorldTeach Tanzania: Jenga Maarifa. Building A Library for Morogoro Secondary
Jessica Carroll, a WorldTeach Volunteer in Tanzania, is raising money for the following exciting project!
Morogoro Secondary School in Morogoro, Tanzania was built in 1954. Since then it has had few renovations and is now nearly bursting at the seams with almost 2,000 students. The school still lacks a library for its students' use. There is currently no place for students to gather for group work or a quiet area for studying. The few books that they do have are locked away in the English Department room, some so old they are covered in dust and dirt. As an English teacher at the school, it is my dream to help the school build a library structure. In the library we would like to have shelving for books as well as table and chairs for students to work and study. Any leftover funds will go to buy more books. Together we can help build something for the future at Morogoro Secondary.
