Art Builds Community (ABC) is a community-based art program teens in the Boston Metro area. We are fiscally sponsored by the vibrant and well-established community arts non-profit organization, Spontaneous Celebrations.

ABC has been creating public art projects for teens and communities alike since 2004 in the effort to give young artists an opportunity to earn money while pursuing their talents while creating more jobs for local, community minded artists.

We are the artistic home to a group of teens engaging them each summer in building their artistic skills in studio settings and while making large scale public artworks.

Teens are chosen based on their passion for their art, financial need, and creating an ethnically diverse team. Youth are taught the technical aspects of mural painting and design and given training in teamwork, organization, community outreach, undoing racism and relationship building.

Please help us fund our programming for 2008 and 2009. Your support helps supplement that of our larger sponsors, the Charles S.Scimeca Foundation (2006, 2007), Chelsea Collaborative (2007, 2008), Chelsea Community Fund (2008) and the Massachusetts Cultural Council (2008).
