I am attempting to raise $130 for the American Cancer Society by running the Chicago Half Marathon this September. In actuality, I am training for the Chicago Marathon in October and this run is part of my training. For the marathon, I am raising money for World Vision. But for the half marathon, I am raising money for a very special reason.

Just recently, my wonderful father-in-law was diagnosed with brain cancer. This has shaken and gripped me and my husband, his family, and mine, but we are remaining strong through this time. And because of this, I feel called to raise money for the American Cancer Society.
