Thank you for visiting our fundraising page! Mike and I are proud to be part of the Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin's 13th Annual Awareness Walk because it means so much to us and our family. For those of you who may not know, we have a daughter who has Down syndrome and she is fabulous!!!
Abigail is going to be five this October 4th (already!!) and we couldn't be prouder of, or happier with, our girl. If you know her personally you know why. Abby is the laugh we get our joy from, the heart that keeps us going and the blessing we would have never known to ask God for. Everyday Mike and I truly feel like the luckiest people on earth. She is amazing and we wouldn't change her for the world!! Abigail is working on reading, math and the computer, she talks up a storm, she loves her friends at school and she has given the gift of learning to everyone she encounters.
We are walking this September 27th to raise money and awareness for an organization who has taught Mike and me so much. In the beginning, the fear that comes along with the unknown is almost unbearable. DSAW taught us that a room full of kids who have Down Syndrome is the best place on earth to be. There is no hate, jealousy, greed, envy, maliciousness, just pure and unconditional love and joy.
We only do this once a year, but we are respectfully requesting your support. We would like to raise $5,000 + and beat our total from last year. Abby Nuoffer’s team was the number #1 fundraising team for the second year in a row, something we felt so happy to have accomplished!!! Thank you again to all of you who supported us!!
We ask that you make your gift as soon as possible – because life has a way of just flying by…. to inspire you, if we win again, Mike and I are committing to give our fundraising prize (the last two years it was two AIRLINE tickets for 1st place) to the person who either brings in the most donations to the team from their own fundraising efforts (start asking those co-workers) or makes the largest gift on their own. This is a fantastic organization, please give what you can.
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts. You can make your tax-deductible donation online until 5PM on September 24th, or if you would prefer, you can send your contribution c/o Mike Nuoffer at 6874 S. North Cape Rd. Franklin, WI 53132 (checks made out to "Down Syndrome Association of Wisconsin”). Whatever you can give will help - it all adds up! To sponsor us simply press "Sponsor Us Now"... we love you for your support. Truly!
Please also join us on Sunday, September 27th at the Milwaukee County Zoo and walk with us as part of our Team. It's an incredible day of celebration with family, friends and people who, like you, want to raise awareness, raise funds, and raise the hope of a better world for all people with Down syndrome. With your support and involvement, our goals of acceptance, inclusion and empowerment will become a reality!
To join our team simply click on the Team Name link located in the upper right corner of this page, or you can visit www.firstgiving.com/dsaw. For full event details visit www.dsaw.org and click on the Awareness Walk link.
Many thanks for your support -- and PLEASE don't forget to forward this to your entire address book and anyone else who you think might want to donate and register to walk as part of our Team.
With sincere appreciation for your time and generosity!!
