Saul and Dayee G. Haas Foundation - Adopt A School

Sorry, no fundraising available

Welcome to the Haas Foundation Adopt-a-School Drive

The Haas Foundation has selected Firstgiving, an online web provider, as a secure website for schools when soliciting funds for our statewide Adopt-a-School Drive. This Drive raises funding and awareness for specific eligible secondary schools who opt into this program. Firstgiving allows the Haas Foundation to set up an exclusive page for your school with up to 300+ individual volunteer pages to track donations received. It is an easy-to-use method of leveraging the power of the web to support your school's Haas Fund.

The Haas Foundation will cover the Firstgiving 7.5% service fees and will provide $100 dollars (flat-not matching) for each school that raises over $400 during the Drive when using the Firstgiving program. There are NO expenses for schools to participate. The regular Haas Challenge Matching Grant will be available while funds last during the Drive.  Your school will receive 100% of all donations collected during the Drive, all eligible challenge matching grants (based on the Haas Challenge Matching Grant guidelines while funds last),  plus an additional $100 if your school raises over $400 during the Drive and it it is tracked on Firstgiving.

NOTE: The Drive runs Jan. 15 to March 31st. The "early-birds get the worms" as far as Haas matching grant availibility is concerned.  Schools must sign up for the Drive by Thurs., Feb. 18th.  Please allow 15 minutes for your personal tutorial to set up your website for your school team. A staff member or a volunteer will connect with you to help walk you through your page set-up.

How it works: Your school will have one exclusive web page.  You can then add up to 300 people, parents, teachers, businesses or civic groups with pages to help support your drive. Students are allowed to have web pages as long as your district has provisions for this.

Thank you for supporting your local students with their immediate needs!

The Saul and Dayee G. Haas Foundation

Our Mission:  "...committed to improving the quality of life among needy secondary students in communities throughout the state of Washington, by supporting schools to encourage students to stay in school, return to school or get involved within their learning community.'

Our Strategy:  The Haas Foundation provides funding and an infrstructure to support secondary school students in need throughout the state of Washington through partnership with those closest to the student: the teachers, counselors, coaches and staff at the student's school.

Each August, the Haas Foundation provides an initial round of grants to eligible schools. The school principal along with two Haas Fund Coordinators dispense the funds as needed for specific student needs ranging from activity cards, musical instruments, appropriate clothing or uniforms, school supplies, test fees, etc. The idea is to make funds available immediately to keep students engaged in school and school related activities - in the words of our founder "to do that which would not otherwise be timely done… with minimal bureaucracy."

Schools are required to report online back to the Foundation at the end of each year how the funds where used. With a web-based infrastructure in place to disburse and track funds to schools statewide, the Foundation also encourages schools to seek additional local support through matching gift and adopt-a-school programs focusing on building capacity to fund more schools and students. Your Support: Is greatly appreciated and goes directly to helping students in need!  Thank you.
