Welcome to our April 2009 Adopt-a-School Drive
A pilot program.
|
The Haas Foundation has selected Firstgiving, an online web provider, as a secure website for schools when soliciting funds for our statewide Adopt-a-School Drive. This Drive will raise awareness and funding for specific eligible secondary schools who opt into this program. Firstgiving allows Haas Foundation to set up an exclusive page for your school with up to 300+ individual volunteer pages to track donations received. It is an easy-to-use method of leveraging the power of viral marketing through the web and requests for individual and small businesses to support their local secondary school.
The Haas Foundation will cover the Firstgiving 7.5% service fees and will provide $100 dollars (flat-not matching) for each school that raises over $400 during the month of April 2009 when using the Firstgiving program. There are NO expenses for schools to participate. The regular Haas Challenge Matching Grant will NOT be available after March 2009. The Foundation will provide a $100 flat match (through the “Give Secondary Students a Chance Annual Appeal Campaign” plus will cover the Firstgiving 7.5% service fees. Your school will receive 100% of all donations collected during the month of April plus $100 if your school raises over $400.
NOTE: Participation in this program is limited. ONLY 80 of our active schools (10%) will be accepted for this drive. Schools must sign up here by the Friday April 10th deadline. Allow 15 minutes for your personal tutorial to set up your website for your school team. A staff member or a volunteer will connect with you to help walk you through your page set-up.
Your school will have one exclusive web page. You can then add up to 300 people, parents, teachers, small businesses or civic groups. Students are allowed to have web pages as long as your district has provisions for this.
Thank you for supporting your local students with their immediate needs!
