To all my family and friends,
With the warm weather finally arriving it is time once again to begin preparation for the annual Stepping Out To Cure Scleroderma Walk. This year's walk will be held on May 31 and my team will be walking again in Leonia, NJ.
For the majority of the year my scleroderma remained stable. Although I suffer tremendously during the cold weather (my Raynaud's symptoms continue to be severe), I am looking out the window as I write this note at a bright blue sky and hoping for warmer days ahead. Each day I work hard at trying to manage my fatigue and exhaustion. I juggle activities to accomodate these needs, and by taking things one day at a time I am able to move forward. Unfortunately some recent medical tests indicate the beginning of pulmonary hypertension and, thus, now I must begin to deal with the medical, physical, and emotional aspects of this. I am determined to stay focused and positive as I continue the fight against scleroderma!
I must point out that I would not be able to endure the hardships of this disease without the wonderful support I receive from my fabulous family and terrific friends! It is all of you who make it possible for me to continue my fight, to sustain my determination, and to enjoy the life I've been given. THANK YOU ALL!!
Although the current economic situation has undoubtedly put a strain on us all, I'd like to once again ask for your support in The Walk To Cure Scleroderma. Any amount that you can give will be greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, chronic diseases (like scleroderma) and health care issues will only need additional private support during these difficult times. Making a donation is easy! You can donate online by clicking on my page www.firstgiving.com/adrianeschorr1 , or by sending a check to me at: 8 Mendham Avenue, Hastings on Hudson, NY 10706.(Checks can be made payable to SF Tri-State). Of course, both methods are tax deductible and sent directly to the Scleroderma Foundation- Tri State Chapter.
I'd love your help again in raising money to promote awareness of and to find a cure for this often unheard of disease. Additionally, if you are available to attend this years walk- we'd love to have you. Registration begins at 9 AM and the walk is at 10 AM. Thank you for your generosity!
Love, Adriane
