This year’s theme for the Walk is Youth at Risk prevention. There are more than 40,000 new HIV/AIDS diagnoses each year and half are in young people between 13 and 24 years of age. With these startling statistics APW has taken a step towards helping and informing young people about how they can protect themselves. It is critical that patterns of risky behavior are prevented. The proceeds raised from the Walk help support the effective programs that APW offers to prevent these AIDS diagnoses in young people. Knowledge is the best defense against HIV/AIDS. Prevention is the cure!
Take a step towards preventing HIV/AIDS with AIDS Project Worcester’s Walk for Life 2006 and put the “fun” in fundraising! It’s our 14th annual Walk, and we hope you’ll join us for this community event on Saturday, May 13th at the United Congregational Church in Worcester.
