Put yourself to the test and join us for our 26th Annual AIDS Walk Rhode Island on Sunday, October 2, 2011. This 5k walk will begin and end on the Rhode Island Statehouse lawn and will take you through Downtown Providence and across Providence's scenic Eastside. It is anticipated that thousands of walkers will join the fight against AIDS/HIV and proceeds will benefit AIDS Project RI, a Division of Family Service of Rhode Island.
While there is increasing hope for those with HIV/AIDS, there is still no cure. The new drug regimens work for many, but there are still people for whom the medical advances are inappropriate, out of reach, or simply not enough. AIDS Project RI provides compassionate, non-judgmental and collaborative response to the needs of people infected, affected and at risk of HIV/AIDS.This is accomplished through leadership in prevention, education, supportive services and advocacy. The Project is guided by principles that epitomize effective nonprofit management and client-centered outcomes. The Project is dedicated to excellence in the provision of confidential, comprehensive, caring, and consumer-driven services that contribute to the well being of HIV infected persons, and to the eradication of HIV transmission in Rhode Island.
