Dear Friends,
Once again I've decided to do something cool to benefit Hopkinton Special Olympics. On Saturday, February 16th, 2008, I'll be participating for the third time in the annual Massachusetts Special Olympics Passion Plunge by jumping into the Atlantic Ocean at Revere Beach, rain, snow, sleet, or shine.
I'm taking the Passion Plunge for the benefit of Hopkinton's Special Olympic athletes, and I'm asking for your help, The Hopkinton Special Olympics program began four years ago. Initially, basketball was the only sport in which special athletes could participate. In only four years the program has grown, not only in the number of athletes, but also in the number of sports offered. Hopkinton's Special Olympians are now participating in basketball, softball, soccer, and bowling. Many costs are incurred to insure the program's success.
For the last two years, when I contacted you to say I was planning to 'take the plunge' I was overwhelmed by your generosity. I recognize that you all have limits to your charitable-giving budgets, and I'd like to stress that any contribution you are able to make this year, however large or small, will be greatly appreciated and utilized.
I appreciate your support of Hopkinton Special Olympics.
