Please Join us for Alex's Original Lemonade Stand...Fighting Childhood Cancer, One Cup At a Time.
Saturday, June 7, 2008 10am-4pm
Penn Wynne Elementary School (250 Haverford Avenue, Wynnewood, PA 19096)
This is where the dream began and continues as a promise of hope for all children and families touched by childhood cancer. This summer will mark the 9th Annual Alex’s “Original” Lemonade Stand on June 7, 2008 from 10am – 4pm. Alex’s “Original” has served hundreds-of-thousands of glasses of lemonade, raising more than $300,000 for pediatric cancer research. This year, Country Time Lemonade has graciously offered to match all donations at Alex's "Original" Lemonade Stand up to $25,000.
Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996–2004), founder of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer, had the idea to hold a lemonade stand to help doctors raise awareness and much needed funds for childhood cancer. In July of 2000, a 4-year-old Alex put that idea into action, hosting her first front yard lemonade stand in Connecticut, raising an astonishing $2,000. In the years that followed, Alex and her family would host annual stands in their home of Wynnewood, PA, garnering media attention and inspiring large crowds of people to embrace the “little lemonade girl’s” mission to find a cure for childhood cancer. We invite you to join community leaders, famous faces, family and friends for a fun-filled day at the elementary school that Alex attended, Penn Wynne (240 E. Haverford Avenue, Wynnewood, PA 19096). The stand will also feature, food, games, live music and a butterfly release presented by Volvo. What started as a lemonade stand on the Scott family lawn, has transformed into a national fundraising movement, with thousands of volunteers across the country continuing her legacy of hope.
