Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a progressive motor neuron disease. Muscle control is completely lost, resulting in total paralysis, while a person’s mind remains sharp and alert. It is a most frustrating disease with no current definitive explanation of the cause, no known treatment, and no recognized cure.
ALS in the Heartland is a nonprofit organization that serves families in all of Nebraska and Western Iowa who battle daily with this disease. All monies raised will remain in the local community, and are tax deductible.
To reach our goals we need your help! All are welcome and invited to register a team, join an existing team, or simply send a donation to support the cause. Please call the ALS in the Heartland office at 402-592-2374 with any questions, comments, and/or concerns. Or you can visit our website at www.alsintheheartland.org.
