My personal message:

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support our fundraising efforts.

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

We are participating in a nationwide effort, organized by the St. Bernard Project, to complete 100 fundraisers to raise awareness and donations to support the rebuilding efforts in the St. Bernard community.  Each of your hosts, Moe, Kelly, and Patti have spent time working with this organization and others like it in the gulf coast area to help out after the storms, and this effort is near and dear to their hearts.

"Hurricane Katrina struck the New Orleans area early morning August 29, 2005. The storm surge breached the city's levees at multiple points, leaving 80 percent of the city submerged, tens of thousands of victims clinging to rooftops, and hundreds of thousands scattered to shelters around the country. Three weeks later, Hurricane Rita reflooded much of the area. The devastation to the Gulf Coast by these two hurricanes has been called the greatest disaster in our nation's history." -Times/Picayune

To give you some perspective when you think about making a contribution, the following information may be helpful:

$10 donation buys one box of nails (for you and me, it's parking in a downtown parking garage)

$50 donation buys a low flow toilet (for you and me, it's five iTunes CDs)

$100 donation buys a kitchen sink (for you and me, it's an iPod nano)

$250 donation buys front and back doors (for you and me, it's 2 months of lattes)

$500 donation buys siding (for you and me, it's one car payment)

$1,000 donation buy drywall (for you and me, it's one month's rent or "partial rent")

$12,000 buys a house!
