Thanks for visiting my lemonade stand.  Alex's Lemonad Stand is a special charity to our family, because the money goes straight to research to help kids beat cancer. 

I remember how hard it was to have cancer, I couldnt be around other people(because of my lowered immune system), all the shots in my back and throwing up every day.  After 3.5 years of chemo and radiation, God used the medicines to heal my cancer.  It wasnt easy, and I still have side effects and risks, and I saw many of my little friends go on to Heaven.  I wish we could have found  a way to make them better.

Alex Scott raised a MILLION DOLLARS before her cancer ended her life here on earth.  She was only 8 years old, but she was determined to help the doctors find a cure.   Yes, that's right, by the age of 8, and in the midst of a difficult battle, she raised a MILLION DOLLARS by having lemonade stands! 

Alex's inspiration continues as folks around the country hold lemonade stands, and Alex's parents give the money to research.  Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation hand picks cutting edge, much needed research, allowing doctors to look for new treatments options.

You may not know this, but kids cancers are virtually left out of cancer research monies.  Most money is spent on adult cancers, which is important, but the kids are enduring longer treatments with higher doses of chemo, with severe side effects (including secondary cancers and death)....we really need to help fund research specific to the unique cancers that are diagnosed in children.
