For the past several years, our school, Bloom Elementary, has helped raise funds for the Kosair Children's Hospital Juvenile Diabetes Program. Last year, our whole school raised an amazing $35,000 and our family raised over $2,000. Though times are a bit rough with the economy, we are going to do our very best to raise at least $1,500 this year.
Why is this so important to us?? Diabetes affects many of our friends and family. Our grandpa, Papa Paul Mabrey, has diabetes. One of our teachers at Bloom, Mrs. Moore, has diabetes. Our Mom and Dad lost a good friend several years ago to diabetes. And, our cat Zero, just recently passed away from complications with diabetes. Even animals can have diabetes. We're sure that you probably know some one who has diabetes, too.
We're going to go door to door in our neighborhood to raise funds. And, we'll be spending some of our weekends raising funds in front of the Bardstown Road ValuMarket close to our school. Whatever you can donate to help prevent & treat Juvenile Diabetes is much appreciated and helpful!
Thanks For Your Support,
Andrew & Matthew Vessels
