I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type, but I can still make a difference! 

What is EDS?

Individuals with EDS have a defect in their connective tissue, the tissue that provides support to many body parts such as the skin, muscles and ligaments.

Hypermobility is the dominant clinical manifestation.  Recurring joint subluxations and dislocations are common occurrences.  The skin involvement (hyperextensibility and/or smooth velvety skin) as well as bruising tendencies in the Hypermobility Type are present but variable in severity. 
  
Chronic joint and limb pain is a common complaint amongst individuals with the Hypermobility Type. Musculoskeletal pain is early onset, chronic and may be debilitating.

What is EDS for me?

Severe pain is an everyday occurance for me.  My joints (wrists, knees, shoulders, jaw, neck, back, hips, ankles, fingers and toes) pop out of place nearly everyday.  I have to do physical therapy, rest, take medications, go to many doctor appointments, wear an abudance of joint braces, and use a scooter or cane to get around.  I really hope that one day, they will find a cure.
