Northside Fayetteville Rotary is hosting its sixth annual Northside Rotary Kidney Walkathon. The walk is scheduled for September 10, 2011 at Gulley Park in Fayetteville. Northside Rotary is excited about hosting this fun, non-competitive event focusing on educating the public about kidney disease and organ donation. There will be children’s sprints, a 2 mile walk, food, games, awards, and inflatable jumps. Fifty percent of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Arkansas Children’s Hospital Kidney Program to provide needed funds to continue programs of public education, and research. Funds are also set aside to ensure that children in need are able to attend the annual ACH Kidney Camp. The remaining funds go toward the Angel Kidney Fund, which provides emergency grants for Arkansans battling kidney disease.
