Community Walk for Autism Awareness

will be held on Sunday April 27th, 2008 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

followed by our 1st annual Family Celebration from 3:00pm - 5:00pm

at Quinsigamond Lake Park in Worcester!

Thanks to everyone who helped us raise the bar for last year by raising over $100,000 for our Center!  With the money we raised, we were able to bring more activities and support programs than we ever dreamed we could! 

This year's event promises to be a fun day with giveaways, raffles, entertainment, prizes, food, games, and more!

              The Autism Resource Center of Central Massachusetts serves as a support, information and referral service for children and families affected by disorders within the Autism Spectrum; Autism, PDD NOS and Asperger's.  Specifically it offers support to families of children with autism in form of family support, educational support and recreational opportunities.   Highlights include: summer and school vacation day camps and family fun activities; a lending library of books, DVD’s and other materials; support groups for parents, siblings and family members; networking opportunities; Educational workshops and other training.  Most services are offered to families at little or no cost.

              The goal of the Center is to help parents, educators, service providers and medical professionals improve the quality of life for individuals diagnosed with autism specturm disorders.  The Center does not recommend any single program or treatment, but rather offers information that allows parents and professionals to make educated choices.
