My personal message:

Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too!

Kentucky is ranked the third worst state for women in the United States. This means women and girls are not getting enough financial support, educational opportunites, protection & safety and health care from their community.

I am particpating in the Champions 4 Her Walk Run on June 21st!  All of the money I raise will go to the beneficiaries listed below. I have chosen these agencies because their work is dedicated to ending violence against women and families.

Maryhurst
Maryhurst provides treatment programs for severely traumatized children who most often are victims of sexual, physical, and/or emotion abuse. Children in our care turn to "risk-taking" behaviors to cope with their pain. These behaviors can include running away, truancy, suicidal gesturing, delinquency and substance abuse. Their issues are further complicated by years of multiple placements in foster care and hospital settings. We provide consistency, structure and love for children. Maryhurst provides programs that address the unique needs of more than 600 children and their families each year. Visit www.maryhurst.org for more information.

University of Louisville Women’s Center/PEACC Program
The UofL Women’s Center has been educating, advocating, and building diverse communities since 1991. We create programs on gender issues; advocate for women’s leadership, and empower participation in civic and public life. We sponsor the PEACC Program to provide services for survivors of violence against women in the campus community. Visit louisville.edu/womenscenter for more information.
West Louisville Girls Choir

The West Louisville Girls Choir, an integral part of the West Louisville Performing Arts Academy since 2001, creates artistic opportunities for underprivileged girls ages 10–19. The Choir assists in the development of academic proficiency and sound life skills that will enable the participants to become assets to our society. Director: Ms Joetta Perkins. Visit www.wlpaa.org for more information.
