Our primary purpose is to eradicate lupus by supporting research, alleviate lupus suffering through patient services and early detection through awareness promotion.
Lupus International was founded in 1983, for a short time as the Lupus Foundation of America Greater Los Angeles Chapter, a 501 3 nonprofit organization. As we continued to grow and expand our services it became more evident that our programs were being utilized beyond Los Angeles, hence the name change. Our corporate headquarters is located in the heart of leading research and biotech entities. Over the last twenty years we have provided thousands of people with educational and supportive services. The foundation prides itself in its ability to evolve in response to the ever-changing needs of patients, their families and medical professionals. Support groups are intended to provide comfort, alternatives and learning opportunities for patients and their loved ones. These groups are solution oriented. Specialty groups are available for newly diagnosed patients, loved ones and for children. Hotline numbers are provided for those who need immediate assistance.
