Since 1984, Pine Street has created more than 550 units of permanent affordable housing for formerly homeless men and women. The squares we knit (or crochet) now will be assembled into blankets on November 8th and presented to the tenants of the PINE STREET INN residences. The money raised will support Pine Street’s Permanent Supportive Housing Program.
This is my second time participating in the Pine Street Inn Knit-a-Thon, and this year I have joined forces with the South End Knitters. Each blanket will use 35 squares. Each square is 9x9 inches, and we will assemble the blankets at the knit-a thon. My goal is to contribute one blanket's worth - 35 - squares.
The South End Knitters is group of knitters that live/meet to knit in the South End of Boston. We have been trying to work on squares on Sunday afternoons. As a group we have completed dozens of squares and raised nearly $1000!
Please consider sponsoring me or one of my team members. Your donation makes it possible for so many people in Boston to have good food and safe shelter so they can move forward with their lives.
Thank you for your support!
