What is the Read-a-Thon?

 

An exciting competition for Power Lunch volunteers! Work as teams to recruit sponsorship of your weekly or biweekly mentoring commitment.

 

How does the Read-a-Thon work?

 

- Form teams of up to 6 Power Lunch volunteers and pick a great team name

(Ex: by company, by school, by reading day, “boys vs. girls” – get creative!)

 

- Choose a Team Captain to communicate with Power Lunch Manager.

 

- Receive bi-weekly updates with standings and incentives.

 

- Fundraise – company matches, raffles and events are all fair game!

 

Why support the Read-a-Thon?

 

Power Lunch is not only a way for volunteers to make an individual contribution to the community, but also a way for Boston Partners in Education  to engage local corporations where they work. Our partner corporations contribute to Power Lunch,

but these sponsorships are not able to cover all program costs. Each year 

Power Lunch grows as we recruit more mentors to work with the students in 

Boston Public Schools. To continue this growth, we need your support!
