PACC911's Bowl-A-Rama for Animal Rescue is the biggest fundraising event of the year for New Hope Cattle Dogs Rescue. This event has proven to be a fantastic and much needed fundraiser for the animal community. This year's 7th annual Bowl-A-Rama is scheduled for August 1st, 2009 and NHCD will be accepting pledges for the event through July 31st. The pledges are not per bowling pin (thank goodness), they are just one lump sum in support of the NHCD volunteer/bowler you wish to represent...
If you prefer to pledge/donate by check, please make it payable to "NHCD" and enter "Bowl-A-Rama" on the memo line. The donation mailing address is P.O. Box 84136, Phoenix, Az. 85071.
All money pledged / donated to NHCD through PACC911's Bowl-A-Rama will be used to fund much needed veterinary care. Your donations will help new dogs coming into rescue as well as fund continued medical treatment for two special dogs still in our care…….RIANNE and BANDIT, see their brief bio below…
Rianne: June 2009 A nice man found Rianne as a stray. He wanted to keep her, but she had a really bad infection and he wasn't able to get her the medical care she needed. He surrendered her to the shelter and called NHCD Rescue for help. We pulled her out of the shelter in the nick of time! The doctor said she probably would have died if she had spent another night in the shelter because her infection was so bad. Rianne had to have a blood transfusion and surgery right away to remove 3 of her mammary glands. Her medical bills thus far is $1245. Dr. P is very happy how well she is recovering. Rianne had her drainage tubes removed today and her stiches come out June14th. We are currently looking for a permanent foster home for Rianne.
Bandit: January 2009 Bandit had X-rays on both his knees and hips. Dr. P said he needed surgery on his right rear knee and it was a Grade 3 (4 is the worst) . He said that it was not the result of an injury but was a birth defect. He explained that it would be a 3-part repair: 1. a tibial bone must be resected and relocated ; 2. the knee groove must be deepened so the knee fits better ; 3. the ligaments must be shortened and stabilized. Bandit's medical expenses have exceeded $3000.00. Bandit has recovered very well from his surgery and is now available for adoption. Dr. P said he would live a normal life and will have no limitations.
