Bark Leaders is a new fundraiser to the shelter where your dog campaigns to raise funds for the homeless pets at the Brazos Animal Shelter. The top three fundraising dogs will be named the Bark Leaders for the 2012-2013 year. The fundraising period for this contest begins now and ends on October 14, 2012. If your dog wins, he or she will be required to attend Wiener Fest on October 27 to accept the position. This is a mandatory event for your dog, so mark your calendars now! The placing will be as follows:

First Place: “Alpha” dog
Second place: “Senior” dog
Third place: “Junior” dog

All three of the winning dogs will receive a photo shoot to begin their stint as a celebrity. These photos will be used to advertise their win on the Brazos Animal Shelter website as well as one of our monthly newsletters. Your dog and you will be invited to attend events held by both the community and the Brazos Animal Shelter. Examples of these events are the annual Brazos Valley Christmas Parade, ribbon cuttings, as well as radio and TV interviews. Lastly, to ensure that the winners are well informed about the Brazos Animal Shelter, they will be required to attend a "behind the scene's" tour of our facilities.

STEP 1: To register, you must begin by clicking the green "register" button at the top of this site to create a fundraiser page on this firstgiving account. You will then be able to set up an account by using an email or a facebook account. The next step is to name your page, add a photo of your dog, tell your story, and set a fundraising goal.

STEP 2: E-mail barkleaders@gmail.com to get an information packet with helpful hints.

STEP 3: Fundraise, fundraise, fundraise! Contact all your friends and family, post it on facebook, get your dogs name out there!
