My personal message:

How could you say no to this face?? All he needs is the basics - some pencils, notebooks, crayons and glue - and you can be the determining factor in whether or not he gets what he needs to succeed!

32 Million kids in this country qualify for the federal free and reduced lunch program - that means their families have a hard time feeding them - so you can only imagine how hard it is for them to show up at school with all the necessary tools for learning! Our children are smart - and they truly ARE our future - so why shouldn't they walk into the classroom fully prepared to learn and reach their full potential. I think it's because people just don't know how ill equipped many of our kids are when they show up at school. But as a former classroom teacher, I can tell you how much money I used to spend out of my own pocket to provide for my student’s needs. In fact, most teachers spend anywhere from $500 to $1500 out of their own pockets just to level the playing field for their kids.

When I came to work for Kids In Need Foundation, it was because I was convinced that our mission, our efforts, and the goodwill of our donors could truly change the course of the future for so many incredible children. I’m so excited to tell our donors that 96% of every dollar donated goes to equipping students to learn and teachers to teach – and that for every dollar you give, we’re able to provide $25 of free school supplies to children who need them most!!

Right now, we serve 1.5 million students annually – sounds great doesn’t it?? But the reality is that we still need to reach the 30.5 million kids out there who need our help just as much – and that’s where you come in! Your donation of $10 to Kids In Need Foundation will provide $250 worth of free school supplies to nearly 12 students – no small feat! A donation of $100 will provide $2500 worth of free supplies to nearly 114 kids – a $1000 gift equals $25,000 in supplies to nearly 1137 brilliant minds!!! Regardless of your ability to give, you have the opportunity to impact some amazing minds with your gift to the Kids In Need Foundation.

If I didn’t believe with all my heart that we are making a difference, I wouldn’t ask for you help – but I’ve seen the faces of students and teachers across this country who start each new school day with confidence and commitment to learning and growing – and it is an amazing feeling to have just some small part in their success. You’ll know that feeling too when you lend your support to this important effort.
