Hello,
Thank you for looking at my fundraising page. As some of you know or may not know I volunteer at the Minnesota Valley Humane Society and we urgently need the community's help in this matter. I usually don't do this, but I would hate to see MVHS shut down. Below is our current situation.
• The Minnesota Valley Humane Society (MVHS) is selling its present site and will upgrade to an existing location. Plans to build a new facility have been abandoned.
• We’ve received a serious offer for our current building, and a Purchase Agreement has been signed.
• Now…an opportunity exists to purchase an almost new commercial property at far below its original cost—with four times the space (about 42,000 sq. ft.) and the capability to become environmentally sustainable. A purchase Agreement has been signed and negotiations are progressing. This site would be modified as a home for companion animals within our time-frame—allowing us to relocate by March of 2010.
This need is present and urgent…
Our capital goal is $4.7 million for a new building. Please consider helping us with a major financial gift that will make the difference in the lives of our companion animals. Naming opportunities are available to major donors.
• The current building is over 40 years old and is deteriorating rapidly.
• The size (about 10,000 sq. ft.) and layout of the building are inadequate to house and support the growing number of surrendered and abandoned animals.
• Recent professional assessment indicated that remodeling or adding-on to the building is not feasible due to inherent structural and mechanical faults.
You can make a donation right here on this website and it's 100% completely secure.
Thank you for your support!
