The National Kidney Foundation's mission is to prevent kidney and urinary tract diseases, to improve the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by these diseases, and increase the availability of organs for transplantation. Kidney disease affects one in nine American adults and is expected to double in the next decade. Across our three-state region, there are over 4,000 people receiving dialysis and another 1,000 waiting for a kidney transplant. With monies raised, we are able to sustain our patient programs, such as: the Annual Dialysis Patient Picnic, Annual Kidney Camp for patients and their families, emergency financial assistance grants for dialysis patients, KEEP Health Screenings, and Medical ID Jewelry.
