Calling all listeners!! ESPN Radio 1310/970 Big WISE and UNC Asheville are hosting a radio drive on Thursday, April 23 to ask the Asheville community to join us in supporting Special Olympics. The enthusiasm, courage, and joy shared by Special Olympics athletes inspires each of us, and we are proud to ask for support from our listeners and friends as we all work together to make year-round sports training and competition programs possible for these special people.
Special Olympics Buncombe County is based out of the Buncombe County Parks, Greenway and Recreation Services Department, through which nearly 1,200 children and adults with intellectual disabilities in the Asheville area are registered Special Olympics athletes. Your support will help fund new programs in gymnastics and track & field, will help provide uniforms, awards and training facilities, and will allow delegations from Buncombe County to compete in local, area, and state-level competition events.
We need you! I hope you will join the ESPN Radio 1310/970 Big WISE and UNC-Asheville campaign as we do what we can to give Special Olympics athletes their chance to shine.
Thank you for your support!
