SEARCH Homeless Services pursues a mission of providing hope, creating opportunity, and transforming lives. Founded in 1989 by a coalition of ecumenical congregations and concerned citizens representing diverse ethnic, social, and religious backgrounds, SEARCH has become one of the leading agencies in Houston serving the city’s estimated 10,000 people who experience homelessness on any given day.
SEARCH provides the resources and services needed to help individuals and families get off the streets, and into jobs and safe, stable housing. SEARCH meets clients where they are and helps them determine what they want and need - everything from basic essentials like food, clothing, and healthcare, to child care, education and employment services.
