2008 celebrates the 15th year of the VHL Family Alliance and with it, we celebrate many successes and great advances in the search for a cure!
Over the last 15 years, the VHL Family Alliance has been succesful in funding numerous promising researchers in an effort to find a cure for this genetic form of cancer.
For me, VHL was diagnosed in my eye over 12 years ago. I had had a previous manifestation in an adrenal gland at age 10, but it wasn't until later that the eye and adrenal tumors put together as VHL. Since that time, I have had tumors grow in both adrenals, right kidney, liver, spinal column and right eye.
Fortunately, through the resources of the VHL Family Alliance, advances in medicine, a fantastic medical team and major leaps forward in research to improve the quality of life for VHL families, I am pleased to be leading a normal life (with the addition of some routine medical tests and the everlooming potential for necessary surgeries).
All in all, I have a great deal to be thank ful for and look forward to having your support in helping move even more research forward. I genuinely thank you for yoour consideration of support of the VHL Family Alliance. It has been through the generosity of so many people that we have become succesful as an Alliance and been able to make the advances we have to date.
Thanks again for your support! My very best, Camron
