I don't know whether your family has been touched by Cancer but mine has too many times!  My Cousin, Marcus Smith, whom this effort was started for, struggled twice in his life with this terrible disease.  Once at an innocent age of 9 and then again at 25.  We miss him greatly but realize the struggles that he went through and how his persistence and tenacity to try to find a cure should inspire us to continue in his name.

My grandmother, Marguerite "Peggy" Slagle Robinson, a truely inspiring soul - died at the early age of 57 of Lung Cancer.  She was such an inspiration and was taken from us way too early!  Her suffering and pain, along with Marcus' help gives me an understanding of how quickly a cure needs to be found.  Noone should have to endure this discomfort!

My Mother is also a great inspiration and helps me focus daily on what is really important in life.  She could have been taken from me too!  I'm blessed to still have her in my life - She Is a Breast Cancer Survivor!
