Thirty-five years ago, two 11 year old girls from Boulder were walking home from a birthday party when they were abducted, raped and shot. One girl survived to tell the story and bring her friend's killer to justice. In response to this crime group of concerned citizens gathered together and formed HARM (Humans Against Rape and Molestation), the 4th Rape Crisis Center in America. The organization’s name was changed to Moving to End Sexual Assault to better reflect the scope of the organization’s work in Boulder County—providing support to sexual assault victims and addressing the societal conditions that contribute to sexual violence.
