Thank you for visiting Car 17’s fundraising page.
The 2010 Rhino Charge was held at Londuroj Hills, Magadi, Kajiado District, and the event raised a record Kshs72,540,232 – a $1 million USD and our team alone raised just under $30,000.
We won the Coupe Des Dames trophy and finished at 18th position covering a distance of 47.53kms. There were 63 cars entered.
We were proud to come 3rd in our class of Un-modified vehicles and 4th in the Victor Ludorum as a result of our distance and the $30,000 we raised thanks to our kind sponsors.
We as fund raisers must try to maintain the fund raising momentum as the funds are needed as much as ever. Raising money is a challenge us all but we hope we can help you to understand that Rhino Ark is an important Kenyan charity and the funds raised directly and indirectly benefits Kenyans.
The 2011 Rhino Charge will be Rhino Rouge’s 8th year and we aim to do even better than this year.
Car 17 has raised just over 14 million Kenyan shillings – that is over $185,000 USD as a team over the last 7 years
Car 17 has won the Coup des Dames Tim Nicklin Award four times
Car 17’s average result is 12th out of a field of around 58 – 60 cars.
The Rhino Charge is a motor sport event in which entrants will be required to visit a number of points (Guard Posts) while travelling the shortest possible distance across difficult, trackless terrain, where speed is not a necessity. The event is organised in order to raise funds to support the activities of the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust.
We look forward to the Charge 2011 challenge – our team and car will be ready but to achieve our goals we need your help before 31st May 2011.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor Car 17: Rhino Ark will receive your money faster and, and please note that this charity has 501(c) 3 status.
