Anyone who knows me knows that I love animals.  Adam and I found the newest member of our family, Tyler (aka "The T") a little over a year and a half ago at ARFHouse Chicago, a no-kill animal shelter in the Chicagoland area. Consequently, I am now a volunteer member of the ARFHouse Fundraising committee. It's been so much fun. I've made new friends and Adam's finally putting his bartending license to use as the "honorary ARFHouse bartender!"

Ride or Stride for Rescues is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it would mean a lot to us if you could participate.  The more sponsors and donations we have, the more animals we can rescue.  Participants have the option of biking 15 miles or walking/jogging/blading 3 miles.  Dogs are welcome!  And of course the festivities are followed by a picnic.

As you may or may not know, ARFHouse Chicago is different from a lot of the other shelters in the area.  We do not turn away elderly animals, those that are blind or have treatable illnesses that would result in euthanasia with other shelters.  Consequently, our fundraising is very important so that we can continue to rescue and care for these animals until we can find them good homes.
