Dear Carolina Hope Friends and Family,

Ethiopia is a beautiful mountainous country, rich in culture and history.  Unfortunately, Ethiopia has been devastated by war, drought, and HIV/AIDS.  There are approximately 4-6 million Ethiopian orphans today, creating a huge need for physical support and for adoption.  James 1:27 identifies caring for orphans in their distress as a mark of true Christianity.  In line with our agency's mission to aid orphans, Carolina Hope is raising funds that will be used to care for orphans at an orphanage in Addis Ababa, the capitol city of Ethiopia.  Two staff members from Carolina Hope visited this particular orphanage in January, 2008.  This orphanage sustained significant damage from an arson first last year and the government is requiring that the building be repaired by the middle of July. 

In addition, the orphanage has gotten behind in paying rent.  The government is now requiring the orphanage to repair the building and pay their back rent in full by mid July.  If repairs are not made and back rent is not paid in full by mid July, these children will be evicted and/or the orphanage director will be taken to jail.  The governments has given this orphanage a plot of land for free to build a new orphanage.  However, they cannot begin work on the new orphanage until their past debts are paid. Would you prayerfully consider donating funds that will be used to help the orphanage?
