I am Ready to do it Again!!!!!!!!!
...and I am asking you for your support. I jump into the frigid Atlantic ocean each year not because I am crazy (who am I kidding...we all know that I am!) but as a reminder of how important Special Olympics Delaware is to the more than 3,000 athletes that have the opportunity to compete and participate in the programs each year...all as a result of generous donations from supporters like you. I will be participating in the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge once again on Sunday, February 7, 2010. I am very honored to participate on behalf of my cousin Jacob Zonick as well as all of the Special Olympics athletes. Having a cousin that is a Special Olympian has provided me with great volunteer and fan opportunities with the organization. In addition, being an SODE executive board member has provided me with great insight to how important and vital donations are to keeping the program running. My cousin Jacob is 13 years old and Special Olympics is by far the highlight of his life. The smile on his face after he competes, whether he wins or not, is priceless! I have learned determination, bravery and enthusiasm from these incredible athletes in my participation on the sidelines.
I know this is a big ask in these these tough economic times but I do ask that you consider making a donation, no matter how small to this great organization. Every dollar helps! Every dollar keeps the programs running and the athletes participating. Be a Fan, a supporter, a volunteer, spread the word to end the R word and encourage inclusiveness of those with disabilites.
Keep the program vital by your generous support and remember the Special Olympics athlete oath "Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me brave in the attempt."
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support my fundraising efforts.
Remember to check if your employer has a matching gift program.
Many thanks for your support -- and don't forget to forward this to anyone who you think might want to donate too! Come to the Plunge Weekend Festival starting on Saturday, 2/6. Lots of fun activities for the entire family (5k run/walk, ice sculpting, chili contest, build a polar bear). Watch the more than 2,600 bears take the Plunge at 1pm on Sunday, 2/7.
Warmest regards,
Carrie
