GRAB YOUR PICKS AND PANS AND JOIN DEVON AND I AS WE BEG FOR GOLD AND PRECIOUS STONES FROM YOU!

Note....you do not need to send gold or precious stones to donate.  Please feel free to donate any amount via this page.  The gold rush is just one more way that might be easier for some to give!

When you do, I will add your name to this page after I go to my jeweler!  Slurp!

WELCOME FRIENDS OF HOUSE OF PUDDLES! Devon and I are thrilled at the money we raised from our New Year's Eve Sock Hop and Valentine's Day Party.

It is our pleasure and joy to announce our third cyber event................Gold Rush!

The mountain streams are flowin' keep them doggies rollin' for our firsrt ever
                                         GOLD RUSH FOR THE HOP!

HERE IS HOW IT WORKS:

We are collecting old broken bits of gold and precious stones.  We think everyone has something in their jewelry box that is no longer useful.
SEND THESE ITEMS TO:

MAYOR CHAPS WAYNE RUDERT
C/O CATHY L. RUDERT
BASSET HOUND TOWN
P.O. BOX 347
FT. THOMAS, KY  41075

For example, I have an old 14Kgold clasp off of a necklace that broke.
Click here to see pictures of what I am talking about (scroll down).

I am going to take all of the odd bits and pieces you send to me and take them to my jeweler.  I will document every piece with a photograph and a receipt from my jeweler of the cash they give me.  I will then donate that amount in your name via this firstgiving page.
If your piece is worth more than 25.00, you can pick a free gift!  YeeHaw!!!!!!!

Right now, please climb in your covered wagon and donate a piece of gold or a stone.  If it is worth 25.00 or more you will be able to choose from three items:

The below links are just for your viewing pleasure.  Do not add to cart.  I will contact you and let you know if your piece worth 25.00 dollars or more.

PLEASE GO TO YOUR JEWELERY BOXES NOW AND ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO DO THE SAME.  WHO NEEDS THAT ONE EARRING THAT HAS BEEN SITTING AROUND FOR YEARS?  THE ELDERS AT THE HOP DO!

The gift links are only for your viewing.  After you click on the link, click on the pictures for details and 5 more pictures!

Do not add to cart.  Send gold and precious stones.

1.)
10 pack of greeting cards from bassethoundtown.com!

2.)  The original dazzling dream necklace!

3.)  The new smaller, pink bone shaped necklace!

These necklaces are hand made by Devon who helps
Sr. Hounds across the USA.

Devon is donating 50 necklaces for our first bassetabulous Firstgiving event. There are about 38 left.

Please only one gift per donation. I hope everyone understands. If you donate 25.00 or more in gold or a precious stone you can pick a free gift.  That is much better than a broken piece of gold or a precious stone laying around!

Donating through this website is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to support Devon and bassethoundtown.com's fundraising efforts.

Bassethoundtown.com and Devon are thrilled to bring you information regarding the House of Puddles. Have fun at our GOLD RUSH for (H)ouse (O)f (P)uddles elders in an effort to make 2008 a bit more comfortable for them.

The HoPpers are ready to steal your heart as they drool and slobber for you while they sit and lay in the town Saloon waiting for their dinner.

This is the third of many cyber functions that will happen in the next  year in an effort to reach our goal of 10,000 dollars. Our goal amount will be about one third of what is needed for the year! It takes about 2,500 dollars a month to run the House of Puddles and that is a good month.

I asked Marilyn why she has devoted herself to the elder basset hounds and she said,

"I was inspired by a friend who had started a basset rescue in the Midwest. They rescued all bassets but she always used to talk about all the seniors she kept in her home because they never got adopted. I decided I wanted to give a home to as many seniors as I could.

Since my husband had passed away early in 2002, there was nothing keeping me in the townhouse we had in Alexandria, VA. So I went in search of a home suitable for a herd of senior hounds, something out in the country on a few acres so we wouldn't disturb the neighbors or violate any housing zones or city ordinances.

I got very lucky and found the perfect house in Frederick, MD. I just had to add a fence and install some doggy doors and we were good to go. Of course, it wasn't long before I also had the carpeting replaced with laminate flooring.

Initially, I didn't think I'd have more than about 8-9 seniors. I figured that would be all I could handle. But they just kept coming. And after going through a huge chunk of my savings and refinancing the house, I realized I couldn't afford to do this by myself anymore. That's when I incorporated in January, 2005 and applied for tax exempt status. And that's how I got where I am. :-)

I have the feeling this has always been my calling. Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamed of living on a farm with a bunch of animals. Well, I got close...kinda. LOL!"

I know her dream has inspired others and I asked her about it. She said, "I do see the idea of retirement homes for senior dogs catching on. Many people have told me I've inspired them and they hope to do the same thing I do one day. That's why Wendie Prince started Senior HoundsAbound in Orlando, FL."

How totally cool! I dream of many House of Puddles across the USA.
Dreams can come true! Just ask Marilyn!

Please book mark this page and send it to everyone you know. Let's help these old bassets live out their life with dignity and grace.

This is our waddle, a cyber GOLD RUSH!

(remember, you do not need to send gold or a precious stone to donate to the gold rush, just donate via this page and you can receive a free gift for a donation of 25.00 or more.)
