Bearskin Meadow Camp truly means the world to me.  Camp is the first place my sister began to feel comfortable about her diabetes and was where she met her first diabetic friend. She realized she wasn’t the only one her age living with this disease.   She made life-long friends whom she can talk to about lets say the high blood sugar that she just can’t figure out or whatever the case may be. Camp is a place where I truly learned more about my sister and her diabetes. I learned the struggles she goes through every day and the responsibility it takes to live the life of a diabetic. I proudly can now change her pump site, fill her reservoir with more insulin, check her blood sugar, give her a glucagon shot, etc. I feel like I can truly take care of her if she was ever unable. I know she appreciated me being there and my enthusiasm of learning more about diabetes. We will always share camp and now when we say “I love you up to the sky” we add “and to the Sierra stars.” I thank you tremendously for helping me and hundreds of people affected by diabetes.  Your donation will help keep the magic at camp alive!  I love you all and again thank you.
