Description: Prevent Child Abuse New York is the only statewide, not-for-profit organization in NY whose singular purpose is to prevent child abuse in all its forms. We are the New York State Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America.
Mission: Prevent Child Abuse New York works to prevent child abuse in all its forms by: -- Increasing public awareness of the problem and commitment to solve it. -- Fostering a statewide network committed to child abuse prevention. -- Serving as a resource for individuals, families and organizations. -- Advocating for programs and policies to prevent child abuse. Prevent Child Abuse New York wants to create a world where ALL children live in families that love, nurture and protect them. We Believe: 1) All children have the right to have their basic needs met. 2) Prevention is the best way to keep children from harm. 3) Child abuse prevention means strengthening families. 4) Prevention is the responsibility of the entire community.

Let me introduce you to Joseph Christopher Joyce, my first grandchild and a very lucky little boy! He is surrounded by parents, extended family and friends offering unconditional love, time, support, safety, shelter, education, stimulation and fun! His future looks very bright indeed.
Unfortunately, millions of America’s children [some living in your very neighborhood], will be lucky to grow up at all or will carry their physical and emotional scars into adulthood thus putting them at risk for repeating the cycle of family violence.
